Capture At Source - Extraction Arms

Capture at Source Extraction Arms are used to capture airborn contaminants before the contaminants have a chance to reach the workers' breathing space

Available in several different designs:
  • internally supported
  • externally supported
  • telescopic
  • mild or stainless steel construction
Lengths: Up to 45'

Diameters to suit Application: 2.5" through 8"

Typically the Extraction Arms are connected to a fixed extraction fan, Filter system or dust collector via direct mounting or a "Header Type" duct system.

Here are some questions you may want to consider when selecting an extraction arm:
  1. Is there any requirement Image (Good Looks)?
  2. What is the Budget $?
  3. Is it important for the product to be Ergonomically/easy to position?
  4. Is it important for the product to be Move into place and Stay in place (without additional process such as tightening joints)?
  5. What is the Diameter?
  6. Chemical resistivity for external components?
  7. Is there any requirement for Chemical resistivity for internal components?
  8. What is the Transport velocity to be maintained?
  9. What is the Noise level (Air noise generated as Air passes through the arm)?
  10. What is the Lbs of force required to position into place?
  11. What is the acceptable Flow rate and pressure drop?
  12. Range of motion (Does it move to where they the arm to move and will they arm stay in this position.)?
  13. Does the build up of contaminant on the internal surface of the extraction arm cause concern?
  14. Do we need to meet any codes (EG: Fire (Transport/Flammability, Explosivity, etc.)
  15. Are there any issues related to the build up of static electricity that should be mitigated?

EXTENDED REACH Extractor arms provide unsurpassed range of motion up to 70'. The extractor arm is based on the new parallelogram technology and 3 spring assisted joints give unsurpassed vertical movement. Cable, hoses, welding tools, etc., up to 50 kg (110 lbs.) can be suspended from the horizontal arm.


A black hood with optimized airflow and built in damper.


Flameproof double skin flexible hose of PVC 160 mm (6.5") or 200 mm (8") Ø with internal steel spiral. Each comes complete with wall bracket, horizontal arm with ball bearings, extractor arm, hose and hood.

The EZ-ARM High Flow Extractor is an excellent solution for most medium to high volume extraction applications. The arm comes complete with Airflow Systems'; patented friction release pawl-and-sprocket design - engages positively when placed in its final position, yet offers no resistance when repositioning is required. A large 13” Ø inlet hood with 360° flange handle allows simple positioning of the hood (versus single handle designs). This extractor comes in 3 lengths- 2m (7’), 3m (10’), 4m (14'), 6M (20'), 8M (26') - and 175mm (7”) diameter.

4” Ø externally supported fume exhaust arms. Simple, effective and highly reliable devices used to remove smoke, fumes, dust and dirt away from the work area. Because the exhaust arms are easy to maneuver, they can command a large work area allowing coverage anywhere within the range of motion. This extractor comes in 2 lengths; 1.5m (5’), and 2.5m (8’). It can be extended up to 42' by adding the appropriate boom extensions. This combination allows for high-volume collection with maximum reach.
A large 8” Ø inlet hood with 360° flange handle allow simple positioning of the hood (versus single handle designs).

ME is a local extractor with friction joints designed for use in workplaces where great flexibility is required
e.g. laboratories and production environments in lighter industrial applications.



Simple, easy function
The friction joints have a large frictional diameter and are
supported with ball bearings. The degree of friction is
easily adjusted with a one-hand knob. Adapted support
springs balance out the weight of the arm. All arms are
equipped with a 360 degree rotational swivel mounted in
place. An air tight damper is fitted as standard.



Always easy to select the right product
The ME is available in four versions:
- Standard version. Suitable for evacuation of most types
of airborne contaminants.


- PP version. Most suitable for evacuation of highly
corrosive contaminants in high concentrations.


- ESD version. For ESD environments, type approved to
EN 61340-5-1.


- ATEX version. For ATEX classed environments, as in
directive 94/9/EC category 2, for gases and dust.



The ME is available in sizes 50, 75 and 100 mm.



All sizes are suitable for table mounting, ceiling mounting and wall mounting.


The same suction arm is used for suspended mounting from ceilings and walls.


Ceiling and wallbrackets consists of anodised square section aluminium profile for high finish and good stability.



The 050 and 075 sizes use the same brackets, while the 0100 size has its own selection of brackets. All ceiling brackets are available in eight standard lengths up to 2 m. Longer lenghts can be supplied to special orders.
To further simplify your mounting and provide a neat finish, escutcheon plate MTI CT can be used if it is nessary to cut holes in the false ceiling.



There are six hoods adapted for ME 50 & 75 and four specially adapted hoods for ME 100.
A suitable air flow is from 20 l/s to 125 l/s.

The externally supported PRO-FLEX Extraction Arm is a superior arm that comes complete with an advanced "parallelogram / counter balanced" design eliminating the need for continual adjustment of friction joints and allowing for unparalleled ease of use. The PRO-FLEX is an ideal solution for most "source-capture" applications. It is not just a stretched out extractor arm. Two ball-bearing mounted horizontal arms with disc-brakes give an excellent horizontal maneuverability.     The Telescopic Arms are well suited for work stations located against a wall. There are no obstructions inside the hose, improving airflow through the arm and simplifying cleaning and maintenance. The Telescoping Arms are easily adjusted and have 360º rotation at the base joint. Very versatile and user friendly.
