Model 05-016: Shell Sorting Downdraft Table SSDT-Army
The SSDT Shell Sorting Downdraft Tables are designed to provide a safe, controlled workstation for ammunition sorting. By eliminating operator exposure to harmful lead fumes, toxic dusts, and airborne particles, ammunition sorting is no longer a dangerous task. A powerful 5HP integrated fan delivers a steady downdraft velocity of 200–250 FPM across an 11 sq. ft. stainless-steel perforated work surface, ensuring contaminants are captured the moment they are released. Coupled with a multi-stage filtration system — including a pulse-clean cartridge and external HEPA — the SSDT guarantees 99.97% clean air return at 0.3 microns. Built rugged for heavy-duty use, yet compact and forklift-transportable, it provides unmatched safety, efficiency, and reliability for ammunition facilities worldwide
FUNCTION
  • The SSDT provides direct capture of toxic fumes, dust, and particulate matter generated during shell sorting operations. Its large perforated stainless-steel work surface resists rust and corrosion while allowing maximum airflow to pull contaminants away from the operator.
  • The integrated cartridge filter with reverse pulse cleaning and external HEPA after-filter ensure 99.97% filtration efficiency at 0.3 microns. Operators benefit from constant airflow through the automatic variable frequency drive, which compensates as filters load, with the option to switch to manual override for maximum flow when required.
  • The fully welded and sloped basin prevents residue buildup, while the variable-rate shaker table (adjustable amplitude and frequency) streamlines shell handling and separation. All components in the airstream are explosion-proof, ensuring safe handling of sensitive materials.
  • Main configuration options and integrated features include:
    • Pulse-Clean Filter System: Cleans filters in place for longer service life.
    • Dual Pressure Monitoring: Digital LED gauges with redundant Magnehelic backup.
    • Flexible Power: 230V, single-phase, 50/60Hz operation for worldwide compatibility.
    • Noise Reduction: Acoustically lined blower compartment for quieter operation.
    • Dust Handling: External 5–10 gallon dust drawer with standard plastic waste container.
    • Transportability: Compact, forklift-ready, and shipped in a weatherproof powder-coated crate.

CONSTRUCTION
  • Work surface: 79" x 36" stainless-steel perforated table, fully welded, corrosion-resistant.
  • Airflow system: 5HP, 230V, single-phase, 50/60 Hz motor with integrated fan, VFD starter, acoustical lining, and explosion-proof components in the airstream.
  • Filtration: High-efficiency PTFE cartridge filter with reverse pulse cleaning; external HEPA filter providing 99.97% efficiency at 0.3 microns; filter baffle to protect cartridge surfaces.
  • Structure: Fully welded steel frame with sloped basin, powder-coated finish, and weather/water-tight crate for transport and storage.
  • Access: Removable back panel for blower access, removable end cap for filter service, integrated NEMA 12 control panel.
  • Dimensions: 90" x 40" x 56" overall crated; approx. 91" x 45" x 46.75" in operation.

KEY CRITERA
  • High Capture Velocity: 200–250 FPM downdraft ensures contaminants are safely contained.
  • Superior Filtration: Cartridge + HEPA system ensures clean air return and operator safety.
  • Durability: Stainless-steel surface, fully welded structure, powder-coated finish, and water-resistant filters guarantee longevity.
  • Operator Safety: Explosion-proof airstream, redundant pressure monitoring, and acoustical silencing built-in.
  • Flexibility: Variable-rate shaker table, worldwide electrical compatibility, compact footprint, and forklift-ready design.
  • Ease of Maintenance: Reverse pulse cleaning, removable access panels, external dust drawer, and filter baffle.
