Job Description
Purpose of this position is: - To develop, support, coach, train and assess in regards to lean warehousing at Lev-co - To implement lean logistic initiatives - To constantly drive productivity efficiency and continuous improvements - To develop and provide business plan support and maintenance of key process metrics to the General Manager and President - Plan and implement initiatives to improve operation key process metrics (productivity, quality and, structural cost) year over year - Organize and conduct monthly reviews with the leadership team Roles and Responsibilities: Lean implementation 70%: - Identify, analyze, develop, implement and support new and improved lean warehousing methods, processes, systems, and, layouts from a growth mindset - Apply and train staff in lean warehousing principles - Improve productivity - Lead process compliance and lean processes that drive accountability with a growth mindset - Analyze costs and benefits of alternatives - Prepare reports and presentations on recommended solutions - Facilitate cross-functional meetings and workshops to lead and facilitate the staff Business planning 30%: - Delivery accurate analytics to General Manager and President - Formulate and apply mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information that assists the leadership team with decision making and continuous improvement - Deep understanding of analytics and the ability to leverage this knowledge into specific action plans - Organize and conduct monthly reviews with the leadership team Knowledge: - Warehousing (lean and operation) Skills: - Excellent oral and written communication skills - Interpersonal skills to work effectively with others across many different cultures - Strong working knowledge of computer software Experience/Education: - Proven leadership abilities with more than 5 years’ lean warehousing leadership experience - Understanding and experience using different warehouse management system - Experience supervising warehouse distribution operations - Ability to successfully lead projects of all sizes, with a strong sense of competition and urgency - Strong ability to teach and deep understanding of lean principles - Problem solving with a high level of analytical ability where problems are complex - Demonstrated ability to effectively organize and plan - Proven ability to work independently and take initiative for work and project planning - Minimal travel - Ability to work any shift - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience Competencies: - Autonomy - Physical ability / fitness to handle the demands of this hands on leadership position - Building effective teams - Dealing with ambiguity - Drive for results - Managerial courage - Developing others
